The number of mobile phone thefts in Ukraine dropped by one-third

So far in 2025, 3,191 mobile phones have already been stolen or lost in Ukraine — nearly 34% less than during the same time last year.

Overall, the number of stolen and lost smartphones is decreasing year by year. In 2024, a total of 19,463 phones were stolen or lost — 33% less than in 2023.

The highest number of stolen or lost phones this year was recorded in Kyiv — 352 cases (11% of the total). Zaporizhzhia and Kyiv regions each accounted for 10% of the cases, with 331 and 330 incidents respectively. The fewest phones were stolen in Kherson region — only 4 cases.

For four years in a row, the most targeted phones by thieves have been XIAOMI, SAMSUNG, and IPHONE. These three brands made up nearly 70% of all lost or stolen phones this year. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, thieves stole or people lost 997 XIAOMI phones, 638 SAMSUNG phones, and 573 IPHONES.

It’s worth noting that the ranking of the most popular mobile phones, according to the Comfy electronics store chain, is a bit different. Customers prefer SAMSUNG, APPLE, and REDMI.
