Every 11th Motorcycle Accident Resulted in Death in 2024

At the same time, the Number of Accidents Involving Motorcycles and Mopeds Has Decreased

About 1.2 thousand accidents involving motorcycles or mopeds were recorded in the first five months of 2024, according to the Patrol Police. Overall, there are 14% fewer such accidents this year compared to previous years. The total number of people injured in accidents involving motorcycles and mopeds is also decreasing.

110 people have died, and another 1,401 have been injured in motorcycle accidents since the beginning of this year.

On average, there have been 250 such accidents per month this year. This is 14% less than in 2023 and 2021, when there were 288 and 292 accidents, respectively.

Approximately every 11th accident involving a motorcycle or moped results in death. At the same time, every tenth person who dies in a traffic accident in Ukraine loses their life due to a motorcycle accident.

Additionally, the number of injuries in accidents involving two-wheeled vehicles accounts for 13% of the total number of people injured in traffic accidents in Ukraine.
