Every seventh sole proprietor creates additional jobs

More than 817,000 Ukrainians worked for sole proprietors in Ukraine in 2025, according to the State Tax Service. In total, 302,000 entrepreneurs had hired employees last year. Currently, every seventh entrepreneur creates jobs. The largest number of sole proprietors with employees is in the Dnipropetrovsk region, while the highest number of hired workers is in the Lviv region.

302,260 sole proprietors employed more than 817,000 Ukrainians last year. On average, there are 3 employees per entrepreneur with hired staff. Overall, 14% of sole proprietors currently hire people and create jobs.

The largest number of sole proprietors with employees is registered in the Dnipropetrovsk region — 27,491. The Lviv region is close behind with 27,275 entrepreneurs. Third place is held by Kyiv with 25,782 sole proprietors.

At the same time, the highest growth in the number of entrepreneurs with employees was recorded in the Rivne (+22%), Kyiv (+20%), Volyn (+19%), Chernivtsi (+18%), and Ivano-Frankivsk (+16%) regions.

The largest number of hired employees working for sole proprietors is in the Lviv region — 74,648 people. It is followed by the Dnipropetrovsk region with 71,983 employees and Kyiv with 70,272 hired workers.

Overall, thanks to sole proprietors, more than 2.9 million Ukrainians had jobs last year: 2.1 million were self-employed, and over 817,000 were hired employees.
