Which companies go bankrupt most often in Ukraine?

In 2025, 780 companies started court bankruptcy procedures, according to the Supreme Court of Ukraine. This is about 10% of all business closures. The revenue of the largest bankrupt companies ranges from UAH 3.4 to 7.7 billion. Most bankrupt companies are LLCs (limited liability companies). Companies that most often became insolvent worked in wholesale trade and agriculture. Kyiv leads in the number of bankrupt businesses.
780 companies started bankruptcy procedures in 2025. This is only 10% of all business closures. Most companies in Ukraine close through voluntary liquidation — 60% of cases. In total, 8,191 companies were recorded in 2025 as being in procedures related to closure or changes in business activity.
Most bankrupt companies are LLCs (limited liability companies) — 84% of all bankruptcy cases in 2025.
Only 48 bankrupt companies tried to stay in business by restoring solvency through rehabilitation (sanation). This is less than 1% of cases.
At the same time, preventive restructuring is becoming more common. In 2025, 8 cases involving 6 companies were opened. This means businesses start restructuring before they become insolvent, trying to avoid bankruptcy.
Most bankrupt companies work in wholesale trade — 266 businesses. Second is agriculture — 71 companies. Next are real estate activities — 53 companies, construction — 48, and retail trade — 38 companies.
The highest number of bankruptcy cases was opened in Kyiv city — 140 companies (18%). Almost the same number is in Zaporizhzhia region, close to the frontline — 138 companies (17.7%). Next are: Kyiv region — 86 companies (11%), Dnipropetrovsk region — 85 companies (10.9%), Odesa region — 53 companies (6.8%).
The top 10 companies that entered bankruptcy procedures recently had very high revenues — from 3.4 to 7.7 billion UAH. The largest bankruptcy case is DEGS HOLDING. The company worked in gas trading and had more than 7.7 billion UAH in revenue in 2024. Next in the list are: PRIDE SOLUTIONS UKRAINE — 6.08 billion UAH in revenue, OPT-SYSTEMS — 5.46 billion UAH in revenue.
