Ukrainian banks will pay 44.52 billion UAH in corporate tax for the first 11 months of 2024, according to the National Bank of Ukraine. This is 1.7 times more than in the same period in 2023. Of this amount, a record 7.05 billion UAH in tax obligations is for November 2024, following a tax rate increase from 25% to 50%.
Over 44.5 billion UAH in corporate tax to be paid by 62 Ukrainian banks for the incomplete year of 2024 This is already 1.7 times more than the same period in 2023. It’s worth noting that last year, the tax for banks also increased in the last quarter.
The largest amount of taxes paid by banks for the year was in November: 7.05 billion UAH. More than half of this amount — 4.47 billion UAH, or 63% — comes from banks with foreign capital.
In total, the profit of the banks before taxes amounted to 175.6 billion UAH. This is a 12% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
11 banks incurred losses of 388 million UAH. Currently, 18% of Ukrainian banks are operating at a loss.
