More than 2 million Ukrainians are in the register of debtors. Their number increased by 18% during the year. So another 300 thousand people became debtors.

In 2020, most debtors appeared in the following categories:
- Recovery of outstanding utility bills — the number of such debtors increased by 36% during the year (+57 thousand people).
- Collection of money (for example, for loans) — by 24% during the year (+150 thousand people).
- Collection of penalties under cases of administrative offenses in the field of road-traffic safety — by 22% during the year (+96 thousand).
- Collection of penalties under cases of administrative offenses — by 21% during the year (+70 thousand).

The increase in the number of debtors can be attributed to several reasons. These are debts the Ukrainians incurred during quarantine and an increase in the percentage of debts sold by utilities and banks to professional collection companies. The introduction of video recording of road traffic violations and the emergence of a parking inspection had a significant impact on the extension of the Unified Register of Debtors.
Getting into the register of debtors may result in the following restrictions:
- Ban on leaving the country.
- Freezing money in bank accounts and ban on the opening of new accounts.
- Prohibitions on the sale and purchase of cars and real estate.
- Debt collection from all official income.
How to check a person in the register of debtors:
- Send the bot the TIN of the person you want to check.
